Six Ways to Elevate Your Next Vacation

Is it possible to have an amazing vacation on a bare-bones budget? You betcha. I staunchly believe you can make great memories on any trip you take!

However, when many of my meals included slathering peanut butter on some crackers that I lugged around in my backpack while traveling across Europe, it made me appreciate the finer things in life. Ha! As a middle-class college student, staying in dorm-room-style hostels with strangers, sharing meals with my friends, and eating from the grocery store was my norm that semester. It was great, and I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.

But now that I'm in my upper thirties with a family of my own, I'm in a different income bracket. (As in, I actually have an income.) And I can now splurge on small things I value while traveling, whether that's staying in a nice hotel, eating out at a nice restaurant, or taking an Uber back to the hotel instead of walking after a long day of exploring.
